United Hatzalah of Israel is the only nationally recognised emergency medical service delivered entirely by trained and certified community-based volunteer medics.

With an average response time of 3 minutes or less, our mission is to provide immediate lifesaving medical intervention during the critical window between the onset of an emergency and the arrival of traditional ambulance assistance. Our ability to be at the scene of an emergency call in under three minutes is an international record. This speed of response is oftentimes the difference between life and death.

United Hatzalah has more than 6,000 volunteers across Israel from a wide variety of backgrounds and our service is available around the clock – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Our services, including emotional support and stabilisation at the scene of an emergency, are always free of charge and serve all citizens of Israel regardless of religion, ethnicity or nationality.

United Hatzalah volunteers have responded to over 3.5 million emergency calls since our inception in 2006 and have revolutionised and disrupted the world of emergency first response. Our impact is felt not only by those that receive treatment, but also their families and future generations.
